Artist Spotlight - Nikki Howell

You know there are some really really dope artists on Instagram and other social media platforms who I feel are SO dope, but sometimes are just off in the Cut chillin’. This week I wanted to highlight a special Hair Artist and friend Nikki Howell!

When it comes to cosmetology there are so many places you can take it. One of the things I love about the Hair Industry is how diverse it can be. Braiding is an art form that many don’t see as one but one that isn’t easy to master non the less. When it comes to braiding Nikki Howell is certainly someone who has gotten it down to a science and has carved out a nice space for herself catering to a great clientele consisting of artists, entrepreneurs , and a few celebs. One of Nikki’s specialties is tightly executed braiding designs on men. Her work has been thorough since the day I meet her working at Eclectic Salon on Wilshire blvd over 9 years ago. Time has only been good to her talent as it has only gotten better and sharper. Braiding hair goes back thousands of years and it’s nice to see such a dope contemporary and neatly execution version of this tradition. Nikki with her infectious personality, sweet energy, and Long Beach flava’ is sure to make you feel right at home if ever you have an opportunity to sit in her chair. As she works magic in other fields such as Real Estate she always can come through, especially for a braid or two. This is my Boo. You can see more of her work on IG @hairlovebynikkihowell Nikki Howell is based in Los Angeles, CA
